Here is the minutes provided by the Board:

The County Board of Vermilion County, State of Illinois met in the County Board Room in the Vermilion County Administration Building in the City of Danville, Vermilion County, Illinois on the 8th day of May, 2018.

Upon call of the roll, 21 were present, 6 absent. Mr. Green, Mr. Hoskins, Ms. O’Kane, Mr. Turner, Mr. Wright and Chairman Marron were excused.

Invocation: Ms. Butler

Mr. Morse led the Pledge of Allegiance

Vice Chairman Johnson in the Chair

Adoption Or Amendment To The Agenda:

Vice Chairman Johnson entertained a motion to strike item #10 and approve the agenda. Motion made by Mr. Johnson. Second by Mr. Morse. Motion carried by acclamation.

Approval Of Minutes:

Vice Chairman Johnson entertained a motion to approve minutes as presented. Motion made by Mr. Johnson. Second by Mr. Mockbee. Motion carried by acclamation.

Vice Chairman Johnson entertained a motion to dispense with the reading of the Report on Claims and place on file. Moved by Mr. Johnson. Second by Mr. Fourez.

Dick Cheney President of Old Town Preservation and Conservation of Structures throughout Vermilion County. Presented the County with the Lagacy Award for the Preservation for the acquisition of the new Administration Building.

B. Resolution: To Adopt The Annual 1000 Hour Standard IMRF Participation

Vice Chairman Johnson entertained a motion to dispense with the reading and for its passage. Moved by Mr. Fourez. Second by Mr. Bieritz.

Upon call of the roll, 20 voted yes, 1 voted no, 6 absent. Motion carried.

VII. Executive Session:

Vice Chairman Johnson stated there was no need for Executive Session.

VIII. Chairman’s Comments/Items Of Information

A. Happy Birthday to Robert Boyd, Marla Mackiewicz, Tom Morse and Bruce Stark.

B. Committee Chairperson’s Comments: Mr. Golden stated Committee on Committees will not meet, Mr. Fourez stated there will be a regular meeting for the Finance and Budget Committee. Mr. Hart stated Judicial and Rules will not meet. Mr. Bieritz stated they will not meet, and Mr. Nesbitt stated Public Safety will not meet, and Mr. Morse stated Tax and Elections will not meet. Mr. Baughn stated Transportation will not meet, and Ms. Walls stated Technology will not meet.

C. Board Member Comments: Vice Chairman Johnson stated the owner of a Grape Creek Property had contacted the County Board in regards to trash had been dumped in their woods. Elected Officials A.J. Wright had organized a crew to clean up all of the trash and the owner was very thankful and very appreciative to A.J. and his crew for the cleanup. Vice Chairman Johnson stated there will no longer be paper agenda’s unless requested. Staff had been trained on the new software and the Sidell/Fairmount Road paving will begin soon. The Housing Authority Board Members were provided by the amended agenda.
