Gibson City FPD responds to 16 fires in 2017

Gibson City Fire Protection District responded to 20 calls in 2017 - 23.1 percent less than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Gibson City included 16 fires - 10 structure fires, three vehicle fires and three other fires.

In all, the department saw $236,500 in fire loss - or about $14,781 per fire.

The department also received four false calls.

The Gibson City Fire Protection District had an annual budget of $165,655 in 2017.
