Village of Pesotum Board of Trustees met Wednesday, May 2.

Here is the minutes provided by the Board:

Call to Order

Village President, Joyce Ragle, called the meeting to order at 6:32 PM.

Pledge of Allegiance and Roll Call

Present were President Joyce Ragle, Village Trustees Stephanie Hackett, Dee Ann Hoffman, Dianne Reed, Katie Wilson and Charles McCrone Paul Rennels Absent. Attorney Elizabeth Megli, Village Clerk Cheryl Smitley, Village Treasurer Melanie Schultz.

Swearing in of Appointed Officials

Motion by Charles McCrone to appoint Kim Butler as Village Clerk, Seconded by Dianne Reed. Motion carried. Attorney Elizabeth Megli administered the oath.

Motion by Dianne Reed to appoint Melanie Schultz as Village Treasurer, Seconded by Katie Wilson. Motion carried. Attorney Elizabeth Megli administered the oath.

Motion to appoint Lyle Reed as Village Building Inspector was made by Charles McCrone, and seconded by Katie Wilson. Motion carried. Dianne Reed abstained.

Motion to appoint Livingston, Barger, Brandt & Schroeder as Village Attorney was made by Charles McCrone, and seconded by Dee Ann Hoffman. Motion carried.

Routine Matters

Approval of consent items

A motion was made by Charles McCrone to approve the regular board minutes and remove the treasurer’s report from consent items.

Motion to remove checks 13423-13448 from the treasurer’s report and monthly bills for payment. Then approval of treasurer’s report, seconded by Katie Wilson. Motion carried.

Bill payment

Approval of bills received after treasurer’s report.

Motion made by Katie Wilson to pay First National Bank visa in the amount of $1517.89 and tusocla Home Center in the amount of $1947.00, and Illinois American Water for $26.74, seconded by Dianne Reed. Motion carried.

Approval of Lease with Pesotum Fire District

Village Clerk, Kim Butler

Nothing to report.

Village Maintenance, Rob Wood

Estimates to remove a dead tree at 104 Walnut, Burnett $1350.00, no debris removal and Todd Herbert for tree removal emergency action required, Todd Herbert will be contracted.

 Village Building Inspector, Lyle Reed

Permit for fence issued to 11 Harness Lane.

ESDA Coordinator, Rob Russian

Nothing to report.

Old Business

Auler property

No action.

New Business

Approval of street work for MFT

A motion was made to accept the municipal estimate of maintenance and a resolution to adopt the cost totally $19783.00 by Charles McCrone and seconded by Katie Wilson. Motion carried.

Approval of Eastside Drainage work and participation

Charles McCrone moved to table item 8.2, seconded by Katie Wilson. Motion carried.

Approval of Regular Board Meeting and Study Session dates

Charles McCrone made a motion to approve, seconded by Dianne Reed. Motion carried.

Review and approval of Village of Pesotum Budget for May 1, 2018 to April 30, 2019.

Charles McCrone made a motion to approve, seconded by Katie Wilson. Motion carried.

Approval of Designated Freedom of Information Act Officer.

Dianne Reed made a motion to approve Kim Butler and Joyce Ragle as FIAO officers, seconded by Stephanie Hackett. Motion carried.

Approval of Open Meeting Act Officers.

Charles McCrone made a motion to approve Kim Butler and Joyce Ragle as Open Meeting Act Officers, seconded by Katie Wilson. Motion carried.
