City of Hoopeston Council met April 17.

Here is the minutes provided by the Council:

I. Call to order

Mayor Crusinberry called to order the regular council meeting of the City of Hoopeston at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday April 17, 2018 at City Hall.

II. Roll call

Clerk Lane conducted a roll call. The following five council members were present: Ankenbrand, Florek, Goodwine, Hamilton and McElhaney. Aldermen Anderson, Houmes and Yaden were absent. Attorney Mockbee was present.

III. Approval of Agenda

Alderman Ankenbrand moved to approve the agenda seconded by Florek. Agenda was approved 5-0.

IV, Minutes from Prior Meeting

Clerk Lane read the minutes from the last meeting. Alderman Ankenbrand moved to approve minutes seconded by Florek. The minutes were approved as read 5-0.

V. Presentations

None

VI. Payment of Bills

Alderman Hamilton moved to approve payment of bills seconded by Ankenbrand. Roll call vote was taken and bills were approved for payment 5-0.

VII. Reports of Officers

a) Alderman Ankenbrand had the opportunity to observe firemen training and to experience going into a room filled with white smoke. The Rossville fire department also participated in the training. The firemen also went into a black smoke filled room.

Ankenbrand also reported that through the "Expect More" program, the high school students had completed "Lucky to Live in Our Community' assignments. Several departments and businesses were highlighted.

b) Alderwoman Florek reported that the roof work is progressing.

c) Alderman Goodwine reminded council of the budget party” on Wednesday April 18 at 7:00 p.m.

d) Alderman Hamilton had no comments.

e) Aldarman McElhaney had nothing to repoft.

A letter from Illinois State Board of Education discussing the Summer Food Service Program was presented.

XI. Mayor Comments

The mayor had no comments.

XII. Public Comment

Questions regarding when street and alloy repairs would be done were asked. Volunteers are needed to take down Christmas lights this coming Saturday at 8:00 am.

XIV. Executive Session

None

Alderman Houmes moved to adjoum seconded by Goodwine. Council was adjourned at 7:16 p.m.
