Analysis: Urbana pays $3.14 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Urbana Police Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 75.9 percent of the $1,840,949 the Urbana Police Pension Fund brought in last year, or $3.14 for every $1 from pension members, according to a Chambana Sun analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Urbana contributed $1,396,844 to the fund, which saw a $417,295 decrease in revenue over 2015. Members contributed $444,105, or 24.1 percent, in 2016.
