City of Hoopeston Council met January 23.
Here is the minutes as provided by the council:
I. Call to Order
.Mayor Crusinberry called to order the council meeting of the City of Hoopeston at 7:00 P.M. on Tuesday January 23, 2018 at City Hall.
II.Roll call
Clerk Lane conducted a roll call. The following seven council members were present: Anderson, Ankenbrand, Florek, Goodwine, Houmes, McElhaney and Yaden. Alderman Hamilton was absent. Attorney Mockbee was not present.
III. Approval of Agenda
Alderman Houmes moved to approve the agenda seconded by Anderson. Agenda was approved 7-0.
IV.Minutes from Prior Meeting
Clerk Lane read the minutes from the January 2 meeting. Alderman Houmes moved to approve minutes seconded by Yaden. The Jan. 2 minutes were approved as read 7-0.
Clerk Lane read notes from the January 16 meeting which did not have a quorum, so no business was acted upon.
V.Payment of Bills
Alderman Ankenbrand moved to approve payment of bills seconded by Yaden. Roll call vote was taken and bills were approved for payment 7-0.
VI.Reports of Officers
a) Alderman Ankenbrand asked for information regarding the status of the Essex building. The property has been transferred. Mr. Acton has a snow removal business so work on the property isn’t expected until warmer weather.
b)Alderwoman Florek had nothing to report.
c)Alderman Goodwine announced that there will be a TIF meeting at City Hall on Wednesday January 31 with all taxing bodies, council, schools, city, county and DACC. They will be discussing projects and extensions for TIF.
d)Alderman Yaden had nothing to report.
e)Alderman Houmes stated that the Christmas decorations downtown and along Route 1 will be taken down with the warmer weather coming up.
f)Alderman Anderson had nothing to report.
g)Alderman McElhaney had nothing to report.

XI. Mayor Comments
Mayor Crusinberry informed council that in February he will be attending training for his other job on 6, 7 and 8, and will be away on vacation the 20th so he will not be in attendance at either scheduled February meeting.

Alderman Ankenbrand moved to adjourn seconded by Yaden. Council was adjourned at 7:15 p.m.
