Cerro Gordo Community Unit School District 100 Board of Trustees met September 20.

Here is the minutes provided by the Board:

The Regular Meeting of the CGCU #100 Board of Education was called to order by President Henricks at 7:00 p.m. in the high school band room.

Board members Freese, Greenwood, Hayes, Henricks, Miller, Piraino and Runyen answered roll call. Also present were Superintendent Robinson and Principals Neaveill.

Piraino moved to approve the consent agenda as presented. The consent agenda consisted of the following:

Approve Minutes of the August 16, 2017 Regular Meeting

Approve Minutes of the August 29, 2017 Special Meeting

Approve August Financial Reports

Approve Payment of September bills in the amount of $140,659.76

Approve Annual administrator and teacher salary and benefits report

Miller seconded the motion. Roll call: Miller, yea; Runyen, yea; Piraino, yea; Henricks, yea; Freese, yea; Hayes, yea. Motion carried, all yeas.

Public comments were made by Jerrime Hiser regarding a PLA labor agreement,

Principal Neaveill attended administrator's academy on September 21 and the IPA roundtable on September 12. Students completed testing using the universal screener STAR Math and STAR reading. Leading to Read program was started for students in grades 1-2. Midterms were sent home September 15. Bus safety drills for elementary students were conducted August 30-31. District fire drill was September 19.

Principal Rodebaugh reported all students 7-12 have completed STAR benchmark testing, Jr/Sr High students will be working with the elementary school to collaborate on Varsity Athlete read day September 29. Parent/Teacher Conferences are September 28 and October 5. Received an email from the officiating crew at the varsity football game at Shelbyville commenting on our player's efforts and sportsmanship. Junior high girls' basketball will be playing a 7" grade A/B schedule this year.

Superintendent Robinson met with auditorium consultant to help create sound/lighting needs for renovation. He attended IASA Abe Lincoln Region meeting in Springfield September 18 and was interviewed on WHOW radio about what's happening in Cerro Gordo Schools. Annual Health, Life Safety compliance visit from ROE was September 11. Building and grounds committee met with BLDD and Tim King September 13.

Runyen moved to approve FY18 district budget as presented. Piraino seconded the motion. Roll call: Hayes, yea; Henricks, yea; Miller, yea; Piraino, yea; Runyen, yea; Freese, yea; Greenwood, yea. Motion carried, all yeas.

Hayes moved to approve FCCLA overnight trip to Springfield for leadership conference on October 1-2, 2017. Miller seconded the motion which carried unanimously.

Miller moved to approve FFA overnight trip to the FFA National Convention to Indianapolis on October 25-28, 2017. Freese seconded the motion which carried unanimously.

Runyen moved to approve the first reading of the IASB recommended board policy changesIssue 95. Miller seconded the motion which carried unanimously.

Freese moved to adjourn to executive session at 7:53 p.m. for 5 ILCS 120/2C (1) - The appointment, employment, compensation, discipline, performance, or dismissal of specific employees of the public body. Piraino Seconded motion. Roll call: Henricks, yea; Miller, yea; Piraino, yea; Runyen, yea; Freese, yea; Greenwood, yea; Hayes, yea. Motion carried, all yeas.

Hayes moved to return from executive session at 8:31 p.m. Miller seconded the motion which carried unanimously.

Runyen moved to approve the minutes of executive session as having been read in executive session. Miller seconded the motion. Roll call: Miller, yea; Piraino, yea; Runyen, yea; Freese, yea; Greenwood, yea; Hayes, yea; Henricks, yea. Motion carried, all yeas.

Henricks moved to accept letter of resignation from Kay Ulland as part time cook. Piraino seconded the motion. Roll call: Piraino, yea; Runyen, yea; Freese, yea; Greenwood, yea; Hayes, yea; Henricks, yea; Miller, yea. Motion carried, all yeas.

Henricks moved to employ Lois Fornwalt as part time cook. Miller seconded the motion. Roll call: Runyen, yea; Freese, yea; Greenwood, yea; Hayes, yea; Henricks, yea; Miller, yea; Piraino, yea, Motion carried, all yeas.

Henricks moved to accept letter of retirement from Jim Walsh as head of buildings and maintenance effective June 1, 2018. Runyen seconded the motion. Roll call: Greenwood, yea; Hayes, yea; Henricks, yea; Miller, yea; Piraino, yea; Runyen, yea; Freese, yea. Motion carried, all yeas

As there was no further action to come before the board, Freese moved to adjourn the meeting at 8:40 p.m, Piraino seconded the motion which carried unanimously. Meeting adjourned.
