Fisher Community Unit School District 1 Board met July 17.

Here is the minutes provided by the Board:

The regular board meeting of the Board of Education of Fisher Community Unit School District #1 was held at the Fisher Grade School Library on Monday, July 17, 2017.

The meeting was called to order by President Leonard Delaney, at 6:30p.m.

Those present were: Leonard Delaney, Janice Douglas, Corky Emberson, Mike Estes, Becky Landers, Mike Rice, Tiffany Rushing, Principal Jim Moxley, Principal Jon Kelly, Dean of Students Jake Palmer, and clerk Terri Stalter.

Those absent were: None.

Visitors present: Carol Thilmony.

Motion was made by Tiffany Rushing and seconded by Corky Emberson to approve the agenda. Voice Vote. Motion carried unanimously.

Public Comment: None

President Delaney stated that the consent agenda consisted of approving the minutes from the June 19, 2017 regular meeting, and approving the bills in the amount of $209.048.48.

Motion was made by Janice Douglas and seconded by Becky Landers to approve the consent agenda. Leonard Delaney-Aye, Janice Douglas-Aye, Corky Emberson-Aye, Mike Estes-Aye, Becky Landers-Aye, Mike Rice-Aye, Tiffany Rushing-Aye. Motion carried unanimously.

Administrative Reports were given by Principal Moxley, Principal Kelly, and Superintendent Thompson. (Exhibit A, B, C)

Motion was made by Mike Rice and seconded by Corky Emberson to approve Fisher National Bank and Dewey State Bank as official depositories for Fisher CUSD #1. Leonard Delaney-Aye, Janice Douglas-Aye, Corky Emberson-Aye, Mike Estes-Abstain, Becky Landers-Aye, Mike Rice-Aye, Tiffany Rushing-Aye. Motion carried unanimously.

Motion was made by Tiffany Rushing and seconded by Mike Estes to keep executive session minutes closed due to personnel and student confidentiality. Voice Vote. Motion carried unanimously.

Motion was made by Mike Estes and seconded by Becky Landers to destroy the executive session tapes from June 2015-December 2015. Voice Vote. Motion carried unanimously.

Motion was made by Corky Emberson and seconded by Tiffany Rushing to dispose of excess tech and library materials. Voice Vote. Motion carried unanimously. (Exhibit D and E)

Motion was made by Mike Estes and seconded by Janice Douglas to approve the Title I District Plan. (Exhibit F)

Motion was made by Corky Emberson and seconded by Mike Estes to approve replacing the lighting in the grade school gymnasium for $13,014.00. (Exhibit G)

Motion was made by Janice Douglas and seconded by Mike Rice to enter into executive session at 7:00 to discuss employment, resignations, personnel, and legal issues. Leonard Delaney-Aye, Janice Douglas-Aye, Corky Emberson-Aye, Mike Estes-Aye, Becky Landers-Aye, Mike Rice-Aye, Tiffany Rushing-Aye. Motion carried unanimously.

Motion was made by Tiffany Rushing and seconded by Mike Estes to re-enter open session at 7:07p.m. Voice Vote. Motion carried unanimously.

Motion was made by Mike Estes and seconded by Becky Landers to approve the following employees:

James Russell – Part-time Custodian (GS and Jr.-Sr. HS)

Penny Scott – Full-time Bus Driver

Lenny May – Assistant Football Coach

Jeff Palmer – Volunteer Football Coach

Jon Deedrick – Volunteer Football Coach

Motion was made by Mike Estes and seconded by Tiffany Rushing to approve maternity leave for Sarah Forbes from August 15-September 25. Leonard Delaney-Aye, Janice Douglas-Aye, Corky Emberson-Aye, Mike Estes-Aye, Becky Landers-Aye, Mike Rice-Aye, Tiffany Rushing-Aye. Motion carried unanimously. (Exhibit H)

Motion was made by Mike Rice and seconded by Becky Landers to accept the resignation of Jill Swartzentruber as full-time high school aide. Voice Vote. Motion carried unanimously. (Exhibit I)

Motion was made by Corky Emberson and seconded by Becky Landers to adjourn at 7:10p.m. Voice Vote. Motion carried unanimously.
