Fisher Community Unit School District 1 Board met August 16.

Here is the minutes provided by the Board:

The regular board meeting of the Board of Education of Fisher Community Unit School District #1 was held at the Fisher Grade School Library on Wednesday, August 16, 2017.

The meeting was called to order by President Leonard Delaney, at 6:30p.m.

Those present were: Leonard Delaney, Janice Douglas, Corky Emberson, Becky Landers, Mike Rice, Tiffany Rushing, Superintendent Thompson, Principal Jim Moxley, Principal Jon Kelly, Dean of Students Jake Palmer, and clerk Terri Stalter.

Those absent were: Mike Estes.

Visitors present: Carol Thilmony.

Motion was made by Tiffany Rushing and seconded by Becky Landers to approve the agenda. Voice Vote. Motion carried unanimously.

Public Comment: None

President Delaney stated that the consent agenda consisted of approving the minutes from the July 17, 2017 regular meeting, and approving the bills in the amount of $323,589.00.

Motion was made by Corky Emberson and seconded by Mike Rice to approve the consent agenda. Leonard Delaney-Aye, Janice Douglas-Aye, Corky Emberson-Aye, Becky Landers-Aye, Mike Rice-Aye, Tiffany Rushing-Aye. Motion carried unanimously.

Administrative Reports were given by Principal Moxley, Principal Kelly, and Superintendent Thompson. (Exhibit A, B, C)

Superintendent Thompson presented the board with the tentative 2017-18 budget. (Exhibit D)

Motion was made by Corky Emberson and seconded by Tiffany Rushing to set the budget hearing for Monday, September 18, 2017 at 6:15pm. Voice Vote. Motion carried unanimously. (Exhibit E)

Motion was made by Becky Landers and seconded by Mike Rice to increase the pay for football officials from $65 to $70, same as the HOIC. Leonard Delaney-Aye, Janice Douglas-Aye, Corky Emberson- Aye, Becky Landers-Aye, Mike Rice-Aye, Tiffany Rushing-Aye. Motion carried unanimously.

Motion was made by Mike Rice and seconded by Tiffany Rushing to sign a 24 month electric contract with Consumer Energy. Leonard Delaney-Aye, Janice Douglas-Aye, Corky Emberson-Aye, Becky Landers- Aye, Mike Rice-Aye, Tiffany Rushing-Aye. Motion carried unanimously. (Exhibit F)

Motion was made by Corky Emberson and seconded by Becky Landers to increase the hourly rate of pay for the crossing guard from $8.59 to $9.45. Leonard Delaney-Aye, Janice Douglas-Aye, Corky Emberson- Aye, Becky Landers-Aye, Mike Rice-Aye, Tiffany Rushing-Aye. Motion carried unanimously.

Motion was made by Tiffany Rushing and seconded by Corky Emberson to approve the Organization Borrowing Resolution from Bankers’ Bank allowing us to have a total combined limit of $22,000 for the district wide credit cards (6). Leonard Delaney-Aye, Janice Douglas-Aye, Corky Emberson-Aye, Becky Landers-Aye, Mike Rice-Aye, Tiffany Rushing-Aye. Motion carried unanimously. (Exhibit G)

Motion was made by Tiffany Rushing and seconded by Janice Douglas to increase the district revolving fund limit from $11,000 to $20,000 to cover more bills that will start being paid out of this account due to auditor suggestions. Leonard Delaney-Aye, Janice Douglas-Aye, Corky Emberson-Aye, Becky Landers-Aye, Mike Rice-Aye, Tiffany Rushing-Aye. Motion carried unanimously.

Motion was made by Tiffany Rushing and seconded by Becky Landers to enter into executive session at 7:18 to discuss employment, resignations, personnel, and legal issues. Leonard Delaney-Aye, Janice Douglas- Aye, Corky Emberson-Aye, Becky Landers-Aye, Mike Rice-Aye, Tiffany Rushing-Aye. Motion carried unanimously.

Motion was made by Tiffany Rushing and seconded by Corky Emberson to re-enter open session at 7:31p.m. Voice Vote. Motion carried unanimously.

Motion was made by Tiffany Rushing and seconded by Janice Douglas to accept the following resignations:
