Natalie Kenny Marquez has been named communications coordinator for the City of Urbana, according to a recent press release.
Marquez has been the director and marketing coordinator for the city’s Market at the Square since 2012, overseeing a 60 percent increase in revenues and a 150 percent jump in its social media audience, the city said. She oversaw the launch of the market’s website and has been instrumental in other initiatives, such as the city’s brand identity campaign, the community-supported agriculture fair and the Downtown Urbana Food Truck Rally.
In her new role, Marquez will design and implement a communications strategy for Urbana and coordinate communication between departments. She will oversee the development of content and help train city staff to enhance their communication skills.
