Rantoul Village Board of Trustees met July 11.
Here is the minutes as provided by the board:
A regular Meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Village of Rantoul was held at 6:00 p.m. Mayor Charles Smith called the proceeding to order.
Invocation & Pledge of Allegiance
The invocation was given by Terry Shepard, Christian Life Community Church, opening the meeting with a prayer. Following the invocation, Trustee Fox led the audience in recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance.
Roll Call
The Village Clerk called the roll, finding the following members present:
Mayor Charles Smith and Trustees, Hank Gamel, Sam Hall, Terry Workman, Jennifer Fox, Rich Medlen and Chad Smith.-7.
The following representatives of Village Departments were also present: Jeffrey Fiegenschuh, Village Administrator; Scot Brandon, Comptroller; Kenneth Beth, Attorney, David Silver, Inspection Department; Greg Hazel, Public Works Director; Luke Humphrey, Recreation Department; Ken Waters, Fire Chief, and Mike Graham, Village Clerk.
Approva of Agenda
Trustee Hall moved to approve the agenda as amended for the meeting. Trustee Medlen seconded the motion. Motion carried, 6 - 0.
Public Participation
Wendell Golston spoke again about Citizen Participation in the Village of Rantoul hiring process stating that he had filed a Freedom of Information Request for the Policy prohibiting Citizen Participation in the Village of Rantoul Hiring Process and found that the Village of Rantoul has no such Policy as Trustee Fox had stated at the previous Village Board Meeting.

Approval of the Consent Agenda. Trustee Hall moved for approval of the Consent Agenda and Trustee Workmen seconded the motion.
Motion to authorize and approve contract with Melotte, Moresre, Leonatti, Parker, LTD. To provide a report on the property at 201 East Sangamon Avenue - $11,850.00. Trustee Medlen moved for approval and Trustee Hall Seconded the motion.
Motion to authorize and approve purchase of TORO Groundmaster 3280-D Mower from MTI Distributing - $23,817.15. Trustee Gamel moved for approval and Trustee Fox Seconded the motion.
Motion to authorize and approve Change Order No. 1 on the Rudzinski Pond Sediment Removal project - $7,238.61. Trustee Workmen moved for approval and Trustee Medlen seconded the motion.
Motion to authorize and approve contract with Eaton Copper for purchase of new electric meters - $83,594.98. Trustee Medlen moved for approval and Trustee Workmen seconded the motion.
Motion to pass Ordinance No. 2532, An Ordinance Supplementing and Amending Chapter 38 of The Rantoul Code by Adding a New Section 38-296 in Connection with Low Speed Motorized Bicycles. Trustee Medlen moved for approval and Trustee Fox seconded the motion.
Motion to pass Ordinance No. 2533, An Ordinance Imposing a Moratorium on all Actions Under The Rantoul Zoning Ordinance. Trustee Workman made the motion to approve and Trustee Hall seconded the motion.
Motion to pass Ordinance No. 2534, An Ordinance Providing the Addition of South Murray Road from (2900N) to Chandler Road (2800N) to the Municipal Street System of the Village of Rantoul, Champaign County Illinois. Trustee Fox moved for approval and Trustee Medlen seconded the motion.
Motion to pass Ordinance No. 2535, An Ordinance Providing for the Deletion of East Chandler Road from South Permimeter Road to (1800E) from the Municipal Street system of the Village of Rantoul Champaign County, Illinois. Trustee Medlen moved for approval and Trustee Fox seconded the motion.
Motion to pass Resolution No. 7-17-1240, A Resolution Determining whether the Need for Confidentiality still Exists or is No Longer Required as to all or Part of Minutes of all Confidential Closed Minutes. Trustee Medlen moved for approval and Trustee Workmen seconded the motion.
Public Announcements - None
Trustee Fox moved to adjourn the Regular Village Board Meeting and Trustee Workmen Seconded the motion. The Motion Carried 6 - 0.
The Rantoul Village Board of Trustee adjourned at 6:33 P.M.
