Transportation Committee Minutes

January 5, 2017

The Transportation Committee of the Piatt County Board met on Thursday, January 5, 2017, at 10 a.m. in Room 104 of the Courthouse. The meeting was called to order by Chairman Ray Spencer at 10 a.m. Attending were committee members Spencer, Randy Shumard, and Bob Murrell. Also attending were: Randy Keith, Eileen Sierra-Brown, Christina Smith, and Keri Nusbaum.

Motion

Shumard made motion, seconded by Murrell to accept the minutes of the December 8, 2016 meeting. All in favor, motion passed.

Approval of Transportation claims

Capital claims for December, 2016 were submitted.

Motion

Shumard made motion to approve the capital claims as presented, Murrell seconds.

Roll was called. All in favor, motion passed.

Operating Claims for December 2016 were submitted. They have received Q2 advance from the state as well.

Motion Shumard made motion to approve the operating claims as presented. Motion was seconded by Murrell. Roll was called. All in favor, motion passed.

HSTP Region 8 appointment

The paperwork to appoint someone to the policy committee needs to be updated. Ray Spencer will be the primary representative, and Keri will remain the proxy.

Motion Shumard made motion, seconded by Murrell to appoint Ray Spencer to be the representative to the HSTP region 8 policy committee, and Keri Nusbaum as the proxy.

Updates

Sierra-Brown presented the updated inclement weather policy for 2017.

Motion Shumard made motion, seconded by Murrell to accept the policy as presented.

All in favor, motion carries.

They had numerous compliments from riders and their families.

There were some mistakes resulting from some errors of a new dispatcher. The issue has been addressed.

Public Comments They need a PM schedule from the maintenance department for their IDOT paperwork. They will let Shumard know if they have repair or maintenance issues.

There have been a few issues with the contractor’s at the project next door parking on the

Transportation/Mental Health property, and their draining water onto the drive.

Next Meeting

The next meeting will be Thursday, February 2, 2017 at 10:00 a.m.

MOTION: Murrell made motion, seconded by Shumard to adjourn. All in favor, motion carried.

Meeting was adjourned at 10:34 am.
