Danville ranked 364th in state in lottery ticket sales for June 2016

The City of Danville had the 364th highest lottery ticket net sales statewide per capita for the month of June 2016 -- down 26 spots from its May ranking.

The per capita lottery ticket sales in Danville was $20.82 per person.

Based on monthly sales records obtained by the Chambana Sun, Danville generated $668,496.50 in net sales from its 38 lottery retailers in June 2016, compared to $739,856.50 in June 2015.

The City of Danville is in Vermilion County, and has a population of 32,108, according to 2010 census data. Neighboring municipalities are Tilton.

Average sales for municipalities in the region in June 2016 was $17,013.56.

Danville's top lottery retailer is Mach 1 Food Shop #13 located at 510 N Gilbert St, Danville, IL 61832.

Mach 1 Food Shop #13 generated 9 percent of Danville's June 2016 lottery ticket sales and 5 percent of Vermilion County's sales that month, which was $1,122,895.50.

A close look at sales by city shows that the top five cities with the highest lottery revenue per capita in Vermilion County in 2015 were Tilton, Oakwood, Sidell, Hoopeston and Danville.

Statewide, the top five cities with the highest lottery revenue per capita were Forest View, Burnt Prairie, McCook, Mapleton and Merrionette Park.

The top five cities in the state generated $5,496,719 in net sales -- 1 percent of the state's 2015 net sales amounting to $2,793,271,709.50.
