Ford County Finance Committee pays bills from general fund

Ford County Finance Committee met Thursday, Jan. 5.

Here are the minutes as provided by Ford County:

FINANCE COMMITTEE MEETING JANUARY 5, 2017

The Finance Committee met on Thursday, January 5, 2017, at 8:30 A.M. in the Small Court Room in the Courthouse. Those in attendance were: Chairman McCall, Mr. Nuss, Mr. Ferguson, Mr. May, Mr. Berger and Mr. Lindgren. Also in attendance were Supervisor of Assessments Patricia Langland, Circuit Clerk Evans, State’s Attorney Andrew Killian, Treasurer Stevens, Clerk Frederick and Mr. Hastings.

Mr. McCall moved to add under New Business a Resolution for the Treasurer to hire and to discuss setting a meeting for the new Budget Committee. Mr. Nuss moved to approve the new Agenda. Mr. Ferguson seconded it. Voice Vote - carried

The General Fund Bills were reviewed. Mr. Berger moved to recommend to the board that the General Fund bills be paid. Mr. May seconded it. Voice Vote – carried

The Committee reviewed Resolution allowing the Public Health Dept. to hire. Mr. Berger moved to present the Resolutions the Full County Board. Mr. May seconded it. Voice Vote – Carried

The Committee reviewed the Resolution appointing members of the Ford County Emergency Telephone System Board. Mr. Berger moved to present the Resolutions the Full County Board. Mr. Ferguson seconded it. Voice Vote – Carried

The CIRMA yearly renewal bill was reviewed and discussed as well as a Resolution for the Treasurer to hire. After review and discussion it was decided to table the Resolution for the Treasurer to hire until further review.

Chairman McCall moved to hold the first Budget Committee Meeting on Monday, January 9, 2017 at 6:00 P.M. in the Jail Board Room before the County Board Meeting. The new members will consist of Mr. McCall, Mr. Nuss, Mr. Ferguson, Mr. May, Mr. Berger, Mr. Lindgren and Mr. Hastings. The Committee will review the Treasurer’s Report and the Longevity Chart.

Mr. Ferguson moved to adjourn; Mr. May seconded it.

Meeting adjourned at 9:49 A.M.
