The Rantoul Village Board of Trustees met July 12 to approve the purchase of two administrative police vehicles.

A regular Meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Village of Rantoul was held at
6:00 P.M. Mayor Charles Smith called the proceeding to order.
Invocation & Pledge of Allegiance
The Invocation was given by – Mayor Charles Smith, opening the meeting with a
prayer. Following the invocation, Trustee Brown led the audience in recitation of
the Pledge of Allegiance.
Roll Call
The Village Clerk called the roll, finding the following members present:
Mayor Charles Smith and Trustees, Gary Wilson, Tony Brown, Jennifer Fox,
Hank Gamel and Chad Smith -6.
The following representatives of Village Departments were also present:
Jeffrey Fiegenschuh, Village Administrator; Scot Brandon, Comptroller; Kenneth
Beth, Attorney; Dan Culkin, Inspection; Mike Loschen, Community Development;
Greg Hazel, Public Works Director; Herman Peyton, Human Resource Director;
Luke Humphrey, Recreation Department; Ken Waters, Fire Chief, Ervin Blevins,
Chief of Police and Mike Graham, Village Clerk.
Recognition of Rantoul Special Olympic Athletes
Mayor Smith turned the meeting over Chief Blevins who called upon Rantoul
Police Officer Curtis Buckley. Officer Buckley spoke about the Special Olympics
and introduced all of those participating students from the Rantoul Township
High School. Officer Buckley turned over the meeting to Jennifer Crites who
introduced all of the Special Olympic Athletes from the Rantoul City Schools.
After the introductions all of the children and their parents came up front, along
with the Village Board of Trustees and Mayor for a group picture that would be
posted on the Village of Rantoul Website.
Approval of Agenda
Trustee Fox moved to approve the agenda for the meeting. Trustee Brown
seconded the motion. Motion carried, 5 - 0.
Public Participation
There was no Citizen Public Participation.

? Approval of the Consent Agenda. Trustee Fox moved for approval and
Trustee Brown seconded the motion.
? Motion to authorize and approve the purchase of two Administrative
Police Vehicles from Shields Auto and one Patrol Vehicle through the
State Bid Program. Total cost of all three vehicles is not to exceed
$76,350.00. Trustee Wilson moved for approval and Trustee Gamel
seconded the motion.
? Motion to pass Ordinance No. 2487, AN ORDIANCE REVISING THE
ANNUAL BUDGET (General and Special Police Funds). Trustee
Wilson moved for approval and Trustee Fox seconded the motion.
? Motion to pass Ordinance No. 2488, AN ORDINANCE AMENDING
AND RESTATING A MICRO-LOAN PROGRAM FOR THE VILLAGE
OF RANTOUL, CHAMPAIGTN, COUNTY, ILLINOIS. Trustee Fox
moved for approval and Trustee Brown seconded the motion.
? Motion to pass Ordinance No. 2489, AN ORDINANCE DESIGNATING
A CERTAIN STREET WHERE THE WEIGHT OF VEHICLES IS
LIMITED. Trustee Wilson moved for approval and Trustee Fox
seconded the motion.
? Motion to pass Resolution No.7-16-12121, A RESOLUTION
DETERMINING WHETHER THE NEED FOR CONFIDENTIALITY
STILL EXIST OR IS NO LONGER REQUIRED AS TO ALL OR PART
OF THE MINUTES OF ALL CONFIDENTIAL CLOSED MINUTES.
Trustee Gamel moved for approval and Trustee Brown seconded the
motion.
New Business
The Administrator indicated that there would be a Special Meeting of the
Rantoul Village Board on Tuesday, July 19, 2016 at 6:00 P.M.

Adjournment
Trustee Fox moved to adjourn the meeting and Trustee Wilson seconded the
motion.
