Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) records show that 58 percent of St Joseph-Ogden High School's 2015 graduating class enrolled in college within 12 months of graduation.
The 2015 state average for students in public schools was 70 percent.
For St Joseph-Ogden High, its college enrollment rate marks a decline since 2014, when 78.8 percent of its graduates chose post-secondary education.
Among high schools in Champaign, the class of 2015 college readiness rates at Mahomet-Seymour High School (68.6 percent), Fisher Junior/Senior High School (53.7 percent) and Urbana High School (40.4 percent) were all higher than at SJOHS. Rantoul Township High School (29.2 percent) and Heritage High School (39.0 percent) were all lower.
The data, collected by the National Student Clearinghouse, includes two and four year colleges.
Enrollment at St Joseph-Ogden High in 2015 was 462. 106 (22.94 percent) were seniors.
Also according to ISBE, 55.7 percent of St Joseph-Ogden High seniors were "college ready" in 2015, vs. an average of 46 percent statewide.
All students who score a 21 on the ACT qualify as "college ready."
