The Champaign City Council met Tuesday to approve a resolution appointing a council member as deputy mayor.
The council also considered amending an ordinance pertaining to alcoholic beverages licensing and applications.
In other business, the council passed a resolution authorizing the city manager to enter into an agreement for life insurance through The Hartford.
A resolution authorizing the purchase and renewal of scheduling software (for the Fire Department, Police Department and Information Technologies Department) through the Right Stuff Software Corp. also passed.
