The Champaign City Council met Tuesday to review a resolution for appointing a council member to serve as deputy mayor.
The council also considered amending the city's alcoholic beverage application licensing and operation process; authorizing the city manager to enter into an agreement with The Hartford Co. to provide life insurance policies for city employees; and authorizing the purchase and renewal of scheduling software for city first responders with Right Stuff Software Corp.
The city also authorized the city manager to enter into a series of real estate agreements including properties on Walnut Street, North Street, Green Street and Champaign Street.
Finally, the city approved a grant agreement with the U.S. Department of Transportation to provide a multimodal corridor enhancement project.
