Urbana met Monday to discuss the North Lincoln Avenue extension.
The Urbana Committee of the Whole met Monday at the Urbana City Building to take procedural steps toward extending North Lincoln Avenue.
The committee was expected to vote on a number of resolutions and ordinances that would allow the city to acquire property, provide a necessary right of way, establish a partnership with Illinois Department of Transportation and authorize the improvements themselves.
The proposed project would stretch across North Lincoln Avenue, from Saline Court to Olympian Drive.
The committee also planned to vote on increasing the number of class C liquor licenses and an amendment to city liquor code that would bring the city in compliance with new state requirements for the training of alcohol servers.
