The Savoy Village Board of Trustees discussed moving the emergency siren at Village Hall during a study session held Jan. 13 at the Savoy Municipal Center.

Director of Public Works and Village Engineer Levi Kopmann proposed three locations based on residential density: the entrance to Colbert Park, the detention basin near the Prairie Fields School bike path, and the village's railroad property near the volleyball courts.

Kopmann said moving the siren to any of the locations would cost about $25,000, which would cover the move plus the cost of a transformer. Kopmann also mentioned the possibility of purchasing two additional new sirens.

Kopmann also presented recent deletions to the village's no parking ordinance that will be drawn up and implemented by the village attorney.
