The Urbana Human Relations Commission approved several local businesses as equal opportunity employers following statistical analysis of their workforce profile and hiring practices.

The commission approved Enterprise Rent-A-Car Co. Midwest LLC and Insituform Technologies USA LLC for one year. Koenig Body and Equipment Inc, Michels Corp., and Visu-Sewer of Missouri LLC were approved for six months.

Alex Bautista updated the commission that the Civilian Police Review Board recently completed its first review of taser usage by Urbana police.

The commission also reviewed committee reports on community relations, criminal justice, ordinance enforcement, and training and development.

Commissioners Jeniece Mitchell and Peter Resnick were absent.
