The Urbana City Council will review the 2015 results from Market at the Square and appoint new leadership to the project at its regular meeting Tuesday at the Urbana City Building.
The market is a weekly farmers market-style event that's been running since 1979. Last year, the market showcased more than 170 vendors and averaged approximately 4,500 customers each Saturday from May through October.
The council will hear the market's annual report and also consider the mayoral appointment of Urbana Business Association Executive Director Paris Blalock to a position with the market.
The council will also vote on authorizing an intervention in a property tax appeal from student housing complex The Pointe at the U of I, and consider an amendment to the city's tax code regarding exceptions.
The meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. in City Council Chambers.
