Sidney Board of Trustees opens bidding for Stage 2 of water tower project

Sidney

The village of Sidney Board of Trustees started the bidding process for the second stage of its water tower project at its Nov. 2 meeting.

As part of the water/sewage/utility report, Trustee Troy Roberts moved to have Supervisor of Operations Earl Bennett retain the Donahue and Associates engineering firm to put together the bid packet for the water tower project. The motion was carried unanimously.

Also at that meeting, the board heard a report that Township Supervisor Tim Osterbur has been in talks with an architect about choosing one of three potential sizes for the new village-township building.

The board also discussed an issue that happened with the village website's e-pay, in which the state had changed the link without letting the village know. It is now functioning properly.

In appreciation for her many years of service, the village approved the purchase of a $75 prepaid card to give to Elinor Fear, who is soon retiring as Peace Meal coordinator.

Other agenda items covered at the meeting included various finance reports and insurance payments, repairs made to various village property, and the removal of a tree at 111 W. Main St.
