The Champaign Board of Fire and Police Commissioners promoted two police officers and hired three probationary officers at its meeting Oct 26.
Robert Delong and Jonathan Tatum will both be promoted from Probationary Police Officers to full Class A Police Officers. Caleb Billingsley, Lauren Schweizer, and Lance Carpenter were all hired as Probationary Police Officers with Class B commissions.
All of the candidates were previously recommended by Police Chief Anthony Cobb.
The commissioners expected to discuss the election of officers, but decided to table the item until all of its members were present.
Vice Chair Lekevie Johnson was absent from the meeting, which lasted three minutes.
