Stuber joins Tolono Board of Trustees

Tolono

The Tolono Board of Trustees approved the village's tax levy and welcomed a new trustee at its Dec. 1 meeting.

The board welcomed Terrence Stuber, who was previously approved by Mayor Jeff Holt.

The trustees unanimously approved a $66,852 leaf collection agreement with Bonnell Industries of Dixon, which offered a system with hydraulic controls that trustees said would reduce workload and improve safety. Trustee Mike Golish presented the other four quotes the village received, which ranged from approximately $53,000 to approximately $70,000.

Building official Tony Battaglia presented two conceptual drawings of a new police station that includes the old village fire building. Battaglia will revise his drawings in consultation with Chief Richard Raney.

Public Works Department officials told the board they are following up with the local power company about a recent string of daily outages.

After returning from a closed executive session, the board announced it will consider mayoral appointments for superintendent and cleaning service at the next meeting. The village is still seeking a treasurer and an office assistant as well.

The trustees planned to discuss the Village Retirement Fund, but tabled it until the next meeting.

Trustees Rena Anderson and Ryan Perry were absent.
