The Urbana City Council met Dec. 14 in the Urbana City Building, convening at 7 p.m. as reported by City Clerk Phyllis Clark.
Following roll call, petitions and communications were highlighted by a presentation by TWG Development LLC, a real estate firm specializing in commercial, market rate, affordable and senior housing developments.
A motion was made to formally accept the Urbana/Illinois Department of Transportation Traffic Stop Data Task Force, followed by a discussion to authorize an agreement between the City of Champaign and the city of Urbana regarding a payment system for METCAD fees.
Seven ordinances were presented: revising the fiscal 2015-16 annual budget; amending Urbana City Code Ch. 14, Sec. 14-7 regarding fee schedules (BASSET Certification Fee); levying taxes for FY 2015-16 (July 1, 2015 to June 30, 2016); directing the Champaign County Clerk to abate the General Corporate Fund tax levy for FY 2015-16; directing the Champaign County Clerk to abate a portion of the 2015 tax levy for General Obligation Bonds (Series 2012 and Series 2014); to approve a waiver requiring sidewalk construction at Oakbrook Circle in the Birchcrest Third Subdivision; and amending Urbana City Code Ch. 14, Sec. 14-7 regarding fee schedules for the Urbana Enterprise Zone.
The final resolution concerned opposition to a proposed map amendment on the Champaign County Zoning Map, specifically a 10-acre tract known as 2502 North Cunningham Ave. Adjournment followed.
