The Champaign County Committee of the Whole will hold its regular meeting Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. in the Lyle Shields Meeting Room at the Brookens Administrative Center.
The committee will review a dozen appointments to various positions in local government. This includes five new members to the seven-member Mental Health Board, two new Democratic members to the Champaign-Urbana Mass Transit District Board, one new member to the Rural Transit Advisory Group, and one new member to the Union Drainage District No. 2 St. Joseph & Ogden.
The committee will also review several budget amendments, two granting $37,000 in additional resources for the State's Attorney and one granting $4,750 to the Nursing Home Bond Debt account to make an installment payment.
Before adjourning, the committee will consider a resolution calling on the state to provide reimbursements necessary for paying county official salaries. The resolution adds to a long list passed by local governments in recent weeks as the state's budget stalemate continues to withhold millions of dollars local governments typically count on for their basic operation.
