Analysis: Rantoul pays $3.14 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Rantoul Police Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 75.9 percent of the $900,623 the Rantoul Police Pension Fund brought in last year, or $3.14 for every $1 from pension members, according to a Chambana Sun analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Rantoul contributed $683,547 to the fund, which saw a $78,807 increase in revenue over 2015. Members contributed $217,076, or 24.1 percent, in 2016.
