Stark Excavating has announced upcoming road closures in Champaign as part of the South Downtown Sanitary Sewer Project. The closures are necessary to facilitate the ongoing sanitary sewer work in the area.

The project will involve the closure of specific lanes on Randolph Street and White Street. According to Stark Excavating, "The eastern most lane of Randolph Street at the intersection of White Street and Randolph Street will be closed starting on Thursday, April 25, 2024." Additionally, "The eastbound lane of White Street between State Street and Randolph Street will be closed starting on Monday, April 29, 2024."

Furthermore, the closure starting on Monday, April 29, will have an impact on northbound traffic on Randolph Street. Stark Excavating stated, "The second lane closure will block northbound traffic on Randolph Street from continuing north of the White Street/Randolph Street intersection. Northbound Randolph Street traffic will detour west onto White Street at the closure."

These closures are essential for the progress of the South Downtown Sanitary Sewer Project, and motorists are advised to plan alternative routes and allow for extra travel time during the affected periods.
