HOME consortium sets four public hearings for January

Meetingmic

The City of Urbana and the Urbana HOME Consortium will hold four public hearings in January to gather ideas and feedback on housing issues for the city's 2016-17 Annual Action Plan.

The HOME Consortium, which represents Champaign County and the cities of Champaign and Urbana, was created to help facilitate affordable housing funding decisions. This year, the group is looking for direction on how to best use Community Development Block Grant funds and HOME Investment Partnerships Program funds to meet community needs.

The city will host public meetings Jan 12 at the Hamilton on the Park clubhouse, Jan 13 at the Crystal View Townhomes Community Center, and Jan 14 in the Urbana City Council Chambers. There is also a meeting tentatively scheduled for Jan 12 in the library of Williams Elementary School. All of the meetings will begin at 7 p.m.

Service agencies and organizations will have a separate opportunity to offer their input Jan 14 from 10-11 a.m. in the Urbana City Council Chambers.
