Champaign Fire Department responds to accidental electrical fire on Williamsburg Drive

On November 10, 2025, the Champaign Fire Department responded to a residential fire in the 1300 block of Williamsburg Drive. The incident occurred at 10:01 p.m. after an occupant was alerted by a smoke alarm and reported a fire outside the single-story home.

Upon arrival, firefighters found that the exterior fire had started to extend into the attic of the house. The crew quickly brought the situation under control, extinguishing the small fire with a single hose line.

According to officials, "The cause of this fire is accidental and has been attributed to electrical. There were no firefighter or occupant injuries reported."

No injuries resulted from this event.
