Illinois women's gymnastics head coach Josh Nilson has announced the team's schedule for the 2026 season. The announcement was made on Wednesday, October 22.
The team will host four meets during the season, including a contest with UCLA at State Farm Center. The season begins on January 10 with a quad meet at Carver-Hawkeye Arena in Iowa City, Iowa, where Illinois will compete against Iowa, Iowa State, and Illinois State.
Big Ten competition for Illinois starts at Huff Hall on January 16 against Penn State. The team will then travel to Ohio State for a meet on January 25.
In February, Illinois hosts Maryland in Champaign on February 1. The team will then travel to Washington for a meet on February 7. On February 15, Illinois will compete at Nebraska in a conference matchup, followed by a trip to Missouri on February 20. UCLA is scheduled to visit State Farm Center for the first time on February 22.
March begins with the B1G 4 meet in Minneapolis on March 1, where Illinois will face Michigan State, Minnesota, and Rutgers. Illinois returns home to host Alabama on March 8 and will finish the regular season with a nonconference meet at Minnesota.
After a week of preparation, Illinois will compete in the Big Ten Championships from March 20 to 22, with the location yet to be announced.
Illinois aims to make its 22nd consecutive appearance at the NCAA regional on April 2. The NCAA Championships are scheduled for April 16-18 at Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, Texas.
Josh Nilson stated, "The Illini are set to host four contests throughout the 2026 season, including a meeting with UCLA in State Farm Center."
