The Public Works Forestry Section and a Project Specialist II from the Planning and Development Department collaborated to create a fall-themed display at the Farmer’s Market held at the Plaza on Main and Neil streets. The effort was aimed at bringing a festive atmosphere to the downtown area.
As part of the display, the forestry crew carved a pumpkin from a Tulip tree (Liriodendron tulipifera) that had been harvested earlier in the year. In addition to this central piece, they painted Jack-O-Lantern faces on other cut trees. Various plants and gourds were also used to complement both the carved pumpkin and painted faces, along with creating a pumpkin cutout display.
This initiative took place during the market event as part of ongoing efforts by city departments to enhance community spaces with seasonal decorations.
