Fae Cornish reflects on fall softball games and team growth

Fae Cornish, Softball Player | University of Illinois Fighting Illini Women's Softball

Fae Cornish, a redshirt freshman outfielder for the University of Illinois Fighting Illini Women's Softball team, shared her experiences from a recent weekend of games. The team played against Southwestern Illinois College, Indiana State, Missouri, and Kaskaskia College. According to Cornish, the matches were marked by competitiveness and energy as the players continued to bond during the fall season.

Cornish also mentioned preparations leading up to their Alumni game, stating that practice has been positive and that the team is growing together. She expressed enthusiasm about playing at Eichelberger Field and encouraged supporters to attend upcoming games.

"I am a redshirt freshman outfielder from Mustang, Oklahoma, majoring in sociology."

"We had a super fun weekend of softball with smiles all around. The weekend was full of competitiveness and energy as we got to play Southwestern Illinois College, Indiana State, Missouri, and Kaskaskia College. This fall has been great getting to compete and bond with my teammates!"

"We had another great week of practice going into our Alumni game this past weekend. This team is so much fun and everyday we grow together. I can't wait to see you all at Eichelberger field!"
