Vine Street in Champaign will be closed between Prospect Avenue and New Street from Monday, October 13, through Friday, October 17, 2025. The closure is to allow Illinois American Water and Shaw Brothers to complete pavement patching work. Access will be maintained for all properties along Vine Street during this period, but the street will not be open to through traffic.
In addition, one northbound lane of Prospect Avenue between Columbia Avenue and Vine Street will be closed from Monday, October 13, until Wednesday, October 15, 2025. Northbound traffic on Prospect Avenue will be reduced to a single lane while the closure is in effect.
According to the announcement: "Vine Street will be closed between Prospect Avenue and New Street. The closure will begin on Monday, October 13, and will reopen on Friday, October 17, 2025. During the closure, access will be maintained to all properties, but the street will be closed to through traffic."
The announcement also stated: "One northbound lane of Prospect Avenue will be closed between Columbia Avenue and Vine Street. The closure will begin on Monday, October 13, and will reopen on Wednesday, October 15, 2025. During the closure, northbound traffic will be reduced to one lane."
