Community members are invited to participate in a litter clean-up event at Boneyard Creek on Saturday, October 25, 2025, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. The event is organized by City staff and members of Keep Champaign Beautiful. After the clean-up, volunteers will be provided with a free pizza lunch. Organizers ask that those interested in volunteering pre-register at champaignil.gov/ard.

The initiative aims to involve residents in maintaining local waterways and promoting recycling awareness. According to organizers, "This is a great way to keep the community engaged in clean-up efforts and to remove any litter that is cluttering up the waterways. It is also a great opportunity to educate residents about the benefits of recycling."

America Recycles Day is an annual program created by Keep America Beautiful and takes place nationally on November 15 each year. The campaign seeks to promote and celebrate recycling across the United States. Local affiliates host events in late October or early November tailored for their communities.
