On September 22, staff members from the Neighborhood Services Department, Rob Kowalski and Sarah Tate, participated in a site visit at Bristol Senior Residences. The visit was organized by the Illinois Housing Development Authority (IHDA) as part of its Next Generation Capacity Building Initiative (Next Gen) 2025 Cohort.

The Next Gen program includes 15 emerging BIPOC developers from across Illinois who are seeking to learn more about developing Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) housing. During the event, participants toured Parker Glenn, Hope Village, and the under-construction Bristol Place Senior Residences.

A lunch presentation was given by Jim Roberts of AHDVS, LLC. The group also took part in a discussion with Neighborhood Services Director Rob Kowalski regarding strategies used by the city to support multi-family housing development and typical engagement with developers.
