The Illinois women's basketball team has rescheduled its game against Bellarmine to Tuesday, December 2. The matchup will be held at the State Farm Center in Champaign, Illinois.
This contest marks the first time Illinois and Bellarmine will face each other in women's basketball. Bellarmine is entering its sixth season as a Division I program during the 2025-26 season. The Knights are one of three teams from Kentucky scheduled to play at State Farm Center this year, along with Murray State on November 18 and Western Kentucky on November 26.
Illinois is beginning its fourth year under head coach Shauna Green. Over the past three seasons, the team has achieved a 38-11 home record and recorded four wins over AP top-25 ranked opponents: No. 12 Iowa (January 1, 2023), No. 14 Indiana (February 19, 2024), No. 19 Florida State (November 7, 2024), and No. 23 Iowa (January 9, 2025).
During Green's tenure, Illinois has accumulated 63 victories and secured its first-ever postseason championship by winning the Women's Basketball Invitation Tournament (WBIT) in 2024. The program has also achieved three consecutive seasons with top-five attendance figures at State Farm Center, six wins over AP Top-25 teams, double-digit home victories for three straight years—a first in school history—and its first NCAA Tournament win in a quarter-century. The incoming recruiting class for the upcoming season is ranked seventh nationally by espnW.
Season tickets for the upcoming campaign are currently available for purchase. Fewer than 100 reserved-seat season tickets remain as of September 24; after these are sold out, only general admission tickets will be offered.
