Megan Nuechterlein, player | University of Illinois Fighting Illini Women's Softball
Megan Nuechterlein, a junior pitcher for the University of Illinois Fighting Illini Women's Softball team, shared an update on the team's progress as they complete their initial 20-hour weeks of practice this season. Nuechterlein, who is studying kinesiology physical education and hails from Macomb, Michigan, noted that the team has been working hard and building chemistry on the field.
"There were a lot of good things to take away from our first live at bats. We are grinding and preparing everyday to have an undefeated fall season," Nuechterlein said.
The team is set to host upcoming games as part of the Orange & Blue Bash at Eichelberger Field this Sunday. The event will include matchups against Illinois Wesleyan and Heartland Community College.
Nuechterlein concluded her message with encouragement for fans: "I-L-L!!!"
