Illinois-Purdue football game set for Oct. 4 morning kickoff

Illinois' upcoming football game against Purdue is scheduled for Saturday, October 4, with kickoff set for 11 a.m. Central Time. The game will be broadcast on the Big Ten Network, according to an announcement from the conference office and its television partners.

Currently ranked #23, Illinois holds a 3-1 overall record and is 0-1 in Big Ten play. The team will aim to keep possession of The Cannon rivalry trophy when they face Purdue, which has a record of 2-2 and is also 0-1 in conference games.

Before traveling to Purdue, Illinois will host USC at Gies Memorial Stadium this Saturday at 11 a.m. Central Time. Meanwhile, Purdue will have a week off before the matchup.

The schedule for other Big Ten games on October 4 includes Wisconsin at Michigan on FOX at noon Eastern Time (11 a.m. Central), Penn State at UCLA on CBS at 3:30 p.m. Eastern (2:30 p.m. Central), Washington at Maryland and Louisiana-Monroe at Northwestern both on BTN during the same time slot, Michigan State at Nebraska on FS1 at 4 p.m. Eastern (3 p.m. Central), and Minnesota at Ohio State on NBC starting at 7:30 p.m. Eastern (6:30 p.m. Central).
