State Representative Brandun Schweizer (R-Danville) has announced a series of Medicare 101 seminars across the 104th District. The events are scheduled for September 22 at the Savoy Recreation Center in Savoy, September 23 at the Rantoul Family Sports Complex in Rantoul, and September 24 at the David S. Palmer Arena in Danville. All sessions will run from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.

“I am thrilled to partner with the Department on Aging’s SHIP, local insurance professionals and senior services to put on this great event,” said Rep. Schweizer. “With the recent news that Health Alliance is ending their Medicare plans, it is crucial that I offer these events, so constituents affected by the change in coverage can connect with the appropriate resources. I encourage everyone who needs any clarification on Medicare to attend.”

The seminars are free and co-hosted by experts from the Illinois Department on Aging’s Senior Health Insurance Program (SHIP), local insurance professionals, and area senior services. SHIP provides free statewide health insurance counseling for those with Medicare and their caretakers. Attendees will be able to learn about various aspects of Medicare, ask questions, and receive guidance.

The event is open to anyone interested in learning more about Medicare. Pre-registration is not required but recommended.

To register or get more information, individuals can visit RepSchweizer.com or call (217) 477-0104.

Schweizer was elected as a Republican representative for Illinois’ 104th House District in 2023, succeeding Mike Marron.
