Illinois remains at number nine in the latest AP Top 25 poll, according to an announcement from the Associated Press on Sunday. The team also moved up one spot to number eight in the US LBM Coaches Poll after defeating Western Michigan 38-0.

The Illini are scheduled to play against Indiana, ranked nineteenth, on Saturday at 6:30 p.m. Central Time. The game will be broadcast on NBC. This will mark only the second time Illinois and Indiana have met as top-25 teams, with the previous occurrence dating back to October 28, 1950, when twelfth-ranked Illinois won over nineteenth-ranked Indiana by a score of 20-0 in Champaign.

Illinois' current ranking is its highest since December 2001.
