SNC Construction will close the right turn lane from eastbound Green Street onto State Street to carry out storm sewer repairs. The closure is set to begin at 7 a.m. on Monday, September 15, and is expected to end by 4 p.m. on Friday, September 19, 2025.

According to the City of Champaign, "In order to perform storm sewer repairs, SNC Construction will be closing the right turn lane from eastbound Green Street onto State Street. Southbound State Street and both eastbound/westbound Green Street will all remain open and unrestricted. The intersection will remain open to normal traffic-turn patterns; however, minor traffic delays may occur in work zones."

The city notes that all other lanes on State Street and Green Street will stay open during this period, allowing for continued flow of traffic except for the affected right turn lane. The timeline for completion is dependent on weather conditions and could be delayed if inclement weather occurs.

"Work is scheduled to begin at 7 a.m. on Monday, September 15, and is planned to be completed and reopened to traffic by 4 p.m. on Friday, September 19, 2025. This work is weather dependent and may be delayed in the event of inclement weather," according to the city’s announcement.
