Rep. Mary Miller, U.S. Congresswoman representing Illinois’ 15th district, has used her social media platform to announce new legislative efforts and comment on education policy. In a series of posts published on September 11 and 12, 2025, Miller detailed her stance on sanctuary states issuing commercial driver’s licenses (CDLs) to undocumented immigrants and raised concerns about school districts' policies regarding gender ideology.
On September 11, 2025, Miller wrote: "BREAKING: Rep. Miller Introduces Bill to Crack Down on Sanctuary States Issuing CDL Licenses to Illegal Aliens
Sanctuary states like Illinois are gambling with American lives by handing out driver’s licenses and CDLs to illegal aliens. It’s a dangerous, irresponsible policy https://t.co/NsHctV6qGS"
The following day, she reiterated her position with another post stating: "Illegal aliens have no right to drive on our roads. Every license handed out to illegals is a threat to the safety of Americans." (September 12, 2025)
Later that same day, Miller addressed issues related to parental rights in education: "Over 1,200 school districts are telling staff to lie to parents and hide woke gender ideology from families, violating parental rights upheld by the Supreme Court.
This is wrong, and I’m fighting to end it." (September 12, 2025)
Miller began serving in Congress in January 2021 after succeeding John Shimkus as representative for Illinois’ 15th district. She won election victories in both the 2020 and 2022 general elections by significant margins over Erika Weaver and Paul Lange respectively.
