Fighting Illini men's golfers Max Herendeen and Ryan Voois have been named to the College Sport Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District At-Large list, as announced by the association on June 17. To qualify for this recognition, nominees must maintain a minimum GPA of 3.50, have completed one full calendar year at their current institution, and be at least sophomores both academically and athletically. Additionally, golfers are required to participate in at least 70 percent of team scoring events.

Herendeen and Voois are also finalists for CSC Academic All-America honors and will proceed to the national ballot for voting by CSC members. This accolade follows their recent Spring 2025 Academic All-Big Ten awards alongside teammates Jackson Buchanan and Ethan Wilson.

Max Herendeen, an advertising major from Bellevue, Washington, studying in the Gies College of Business, was recognized as an honorable mention All-American by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA). He concluded the season ranked No. 38 in NCAA player rankings—second on his team—and achieved third place overall in the Big Ten while leading among underclassmen. His performance peaked with a No. 24 ranking on the World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR) charts this season. Herendeen finished with a team-best average score of 70.85 per round and held an impressive head-to-head record of 1023-179-28 (.843). Notably, he tied with Voois for most rounds scored in the 60s within his team.

Ryan Voois is a finance major from Ladera Ranch, California, also enrolled in the Gies College of Business. He earned GCAA PING All-Midwest Region honors for two consecutive years along with his first All-Big Ten First Team selection. With a career-best stroke average of 71.64 per round this season—ranking third on his team—Voois led Illinois as top finisher in four tournaments including notable performances at Memphis Intercollegiate and NCAA Urbana Regional title events.

Both athletes recorded significant achievements throughout their seasons: each posting top-25 finishes across eleven tournaments while achieving fourteen rounds scored in the sixties—a shared lead within their team statistics.
