Illinois' 2025 tennis recruiting class has been ranked No. 14 nationally by the Tennis Recruiting Network, marking an improvement from its previous position at No. 16 in February. This class is now recognized as the best under head coach Evan Clark.

"We are excited to be recognized for our 2025 recruiting class but we are more excited about the student-athletes we will be adding to our program," said Clark. "We are bringing in terrific people and terrific tennis players and they will be incredible additions to our program."

Clark attributed the success of this recruitment effort to the dedication of Coach Eddins, stating, "I'd also like to thank Coach Eddins for all his tireless work on the recruiting trail. He has put a tremendous amount of effort into recruiting and these recruiting classes are a reflection of his steadfast commitment."

The Illinois team includes notable recruits such as Risa Ueno, who holds a No. 14 ranking by Tennis Recruiting Network, and Elizabeth Isyanov, a five-star recruit ranked No. 37.

In comparison with other teams, USC ranks at No. 4, UCLA at No. 5, and Indiana at No. 10 within the Big Ten conference ahead of Illinois, while Maryland is positioned at No. 25.

Reflecting on past achievements, Clark's first ranked recruiting class came in at No. 15 in 2017, followed by rankings of No. 22 in 2019 and No. 24 in 2021.

Throughout his decade-long tenure as head coach, Clark has maintained a strong record with only one athlete transferring out during their four-year career and achieving a perfect graduation rate among his players.

More details about the rankings can be found through the Tennis Recruiting Network's resources.
