The Illinois women's track and field team concluded their participation in the NCAA West Preliminaries at E.B. Cushing Stadium, Texas A&M, on Saturday, May 31. The 4x100m relay team, consisting of Azariyah Bryant, Sophia Beckmon, Asia Thomas, and Llyric Driscoll, along with high jumper Rose Yeboah, secured spots for the NCAA Outdoor Championships in Eugene, Oregon.

The relay team qualified by setting a school record time of 43.35 seconds, finishing third in their heat to earn automatic qualification. This time ranks as the 18th fastest nationally for 2025. It is also the second consecutive year that an Illinois women's 4x100m relay team will compete in Eugene.

Rose Yeboah qualified for nationals in the high jump after clearing a height of 1.84 meters (6-0 1/2) on her first attempt. She bypassed the initial height of 1.71 meters (5-7 1/4), then cleared subsequent heights with ease before achieving her qualifying mark. As the reigning outdoor high jump national champion, Yeboah aims to defend her title.

The qualifiers from Illinois will have a break next week before heading to Eugene for the NCAA Outdoor Championships scheduled from June 11-14 at Hayward Field.
