Head coach Josh Nilson has announced the addition of two athletes to the Illinois women's gymnastics team for 2026. Rachel Goldstein, a transfer from Iowa State, and Sydney Enriquez, an incoming freshman, have both signed Big Ten Athletics Aid Agreements with Illinois.

Rachel Goldstein, originally from Bluffton, South Carolina, trained at Summit Gymnastics and has multiple state championships under her belt. She competed for Iowa State during her freshman year in 2025 on bars and beam. Goldstein shared her excitement about joining Illinois: "it felt like the best place for me to be. The coaches are amazing, and the team atmosphere is great."

Sydney Enriquez from Miami, Florida brings a strong club background with achievements such as winning the floor title at the 2023 Women's Level 9 Eastern Championships. Trained at Victory Elite Gymnastics, she expressed enthusiasm about joining Illinois: "a dream come true to be coached by this gymnastics staff and attend this prestigious university with so much variety."

Both athletes will join the Fighting Illini team in the upcoming fall season.
