Five Illinois softball players have been recognized with College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District honors, as announced by the organization. The athletes receiving this distinction are Page Berkmeyer, Adisyn Caryl, Eileen Donahue, Stevie Meade, and Lauren Wiles.
Stevie Meade has earned this accolade for the third time. Page Berkmeyer is receiving it for the second consecutive year. Meanwhile, Adisyn Caryl, Eileen Donahue, and Lauren Wiles are being honored for the first time.
Page Berkmeyer completed her senior season with a batting line of .272/.384/.361. As a catcher, she ranks third in the Illini record books with 41 runners caught stealing. She graduated in 2024 and is currently pursuing a master's degree in Animal Science.
Adisyn Caryl concluded her sophomore season with a .321 batting average, placing second on the team. She was the only player to start every game this season. Her 11 doubles tied for first on the team while her seven home runs ranked second. Caryl is majoring in Elementary Education and Spanish.
Eileen Donahue led the Fighting Illini with a .331 batting average, a .574 slugging percentage, 10 home runs, and 35 RBIs this season. The sophomore played in 46 games and started 44 of them at first base. She is majoring in Elementary Education.
Stevie Meade ended her college career with a slash line of .273/.489/.340. The outfielder's performance included tying for first on the team with 11 doubles and two triples this season. Meade leaves as the all-time leader in sacrifice hits for Illinois softball after graduating with a degree in Interdisciplinary Health.
Lauren Wiles recorded a 4.24 ERA with 36 strikeouts during her senior year as a pitcher. She pitched four complete games and one shutout over 67.2 innings—ranking third among Illini pitchers—and received her master's degree in Management this spring.
To qualify for CSC Academic All-District honors, nominees must maintain at least a 3.50 GPA while being sophomores academically and athletically or higher; they must also be starters or significant reserves who participated in at least 90 percent of games during the current campaign.
