No. 23 Illinois achieved two consecutive 4-0 victories in a doubleheader against Northwestern and Chicago State. These victories were part of their Big Ten season, improving their overall record to 12-6. The win over Northwestern also enhanced their conference record to 5-2. Head coach Brad Dancer expressed gratitude: "First off, a huge thank you to all of the alumni and supporters who came out. You made it feel like a home match, and our guys capitalized on that support."
In the first match against No. 65 Northwestern, Illinois secured the doubles point with victories from William Mroz/Zach Viiala and Mathis Debru/Max Mroz. In singles play, Viiala, Kenta Miyoshi, and Will Mroz delivered wins. Miyoshi secured his 11th singles victory, and Mroz came from behind to clinch the win.
In the second match against Chicago State, Illinois started strong by winning the doubles point, with Tyler Bowers/Gabrielius Guzauskas claiming victory. Chicago State defaulted two singles matches, which set the stage for Max Mroz's decisive win over Logan Daily.
